Man Apprehended After Short Chase
A man driving a car belonging to two people he was not supposed to have contact with led police on a short chase early Saturday through a north Spokane neighborhood.
Police spotted a car about 3 a.m. weaving along Princeton near Perry with a headlight out. When they tried to stop the car, the driver accelerated and drove into an alley, police said.
After nearly hitting several garages, the driver skidded the car into a front yard in the 1200 block of East Princeton and bolted.
Police chased the driver on foot and found him hiding face down next to a house in the 1300 block of East Hoffman, they said.
David Jason Wilson, 24, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for attempting to elude police. Additional charges are possible, a police spokesman said.
When police checked Wilson’s driver’s license, they discovered it was suspended and that the registered owners of the car had court orders against him, said police spokesman Dick Cottam. One had a protection order against Wilson, the other a no-contact order, Cottam said.
Police said Wilson also refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
