Two Fatally Stabbed In Okanogan County

From Staff And Wire Reports

Separate disputes fueled by alcohol led to the fatal stabbings of two Okanogan County field workers over the weekend, Sheriff Jim Weed said Sunday.

The first occurred near Brewster, Wash., on Saturday night, when Jose Cuin-Pammatz, 21, was stabbed in the back while trying to run from Antonio Huerta-Martinez, the sheriff said.

The two were drinking about 9:40 p.m. when they started arguing over a previous fight. Huerta ran to his trailer to get a kitchen knife, Weed said.

Cuin was cut once and turned to run away; he then was stabbed in the upper back, Weed said.

Huerta, 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder in Brewster a few hours later.

Some 70 miles north in Oroville, a 29-year-old field worker also was stabbed to death.

That dispute started in an orchard east of Oroville early Saturday when co-workers broke up a fistfight.

Shortly after midnight, the two fought again. The victim, whose name is being withheld, was stabbed in the neck, shoulder, arm and wrist, the sheriff said.

Salvador Garcia-Rodriquez, 39, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, Weed said. , DataTimes
