Wanted Posters Put On Internet
State police are hoping New Yorkers will become “citizen cybercops” by helping them solve crimes via the Internet.
The state police website went online Sunday. It contains mugshots of New York’s 12 “Most Wanted” criminals, information about three unsolved crimes from across the state, and details about police history and crime statistics.
People who may have witnessed a crime but are afraid to come forward in person will now be able to give troopers tips anonymously, Lt. Col. Ray Dutcher said.
