Mary McCammon Post Falls

Graveside service for Mary M. McCammon, 71, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergeen Cemetery in Post Falls. Visitation will be today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.

Mrs. McCammon, who was born in Forest, Idaho, died Tuesday.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1959 and purchased the Lake City Lanes Bowling Alley, which she later sold. She was recently the owner of Sawmill Bowling Alley in Post Falls.

Mrs. McCammon was a member of bowling leagues in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene and was a member of the Spokane Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Robert; four daughters, Maureen Sand and Cathy Dicks, both of Post Falls, Margaret Faulkner of Wenatchee and Kelly Sand of Coeur d’Alene; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.

Clarence Tuggle Spokane

Vigil service for Clarence A. Tuggle, 81, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. There will be private inurnment.

Mr. Tuggle, who was born in Kentucky, died Sunday.

He was a retired Army major and served from 1942 to 1962. After his military career he worked as a consultant for Washington State Employment Security.

He had lived in Spokane since 1961 and was a member of St. Thomas More Parish.

His wife, June Tuggle, died in 1992.

He is survived by three sons, Richard and Mark Tuggle, both of Spokane, and Stephen Tuggle of Seattle; two daughters, Suzanne Traynham and Elizabeth Conrath, both of Spokane; a brother, Paul Tuggle of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Burdine of Daytona, Fla., and Maxine Bentley of Seco, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Morning Star Boys Ranch.

Thelma Grubbs Spokane

Service for Thelma L. Grubbs, 88, is set for 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Born in Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Grubbs died Sunday.

She had worked as a retail sales clerk and was a Spokane resident since 1958.

Her husband, Elwood Grubbs, died in 1958.

She is survived by a son, Craig Frost of Spokane; a daughter, Barbara Thomas of Columbia, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Spokane.

Harold ‘Baldy’ Bald Post Falls

Graveside Inurnment for Harold “Baldy” Bald, 73, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bald, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.

He had lived in the Pacific Northwest most of his life and worked in the construction industry. He operated the B & M Cab Co. during the early to mid-1960s.

Mr. Bald was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Everett.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Marjorie; one son, Scott Bald of Alaska; two daughters, Patricia Fairchild and Barbara Buckley, both of Post Falls; one sister, Arlene Ferraro of Spokane; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William Litton Spokane

No service will be held for William Herbert Litton, 66, at his request. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Litton, who died last Thursday, was born in Los Angeles.

He was a 14-year Spokane resident and worked as a dispatcher for Hatfield Enterprises until he retired in 1992.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Blackwell of Portland; a son, George Litton of Rathdrum, Idaho; a brother, Robert Litton of Airway Heights; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Douglas Evans Hayden Lake, Idaho

Memorial service for Douglas Ryan Evans, 47, will be at a later date. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Evans, who was born in Minnesota, died Sunday.

He graduated from Ferguson High School in Lewistown, Mont., in 1965 and moved to the Coeur d’Alene area nine years ago.

Mr. Evans worked as a millwright in the construction industry.

Survivors include a son, David Evans of Spokane; a daughter, Robin Thompson of Las Vegas, Nev.; his parents, Leon and Caroline Evans of Hayden Lake; three brothers, Dean Evans of California, Mark Evans of Post Falls and Michael Evans of Denver; and a sister, Colleen Evans of Coeur d’Alene.

Cassie Phegley Spokane

Service for Cassie C. Phegley, 60, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at 904 E. 33rd. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phegley, who died Monday, was born in Socorro, N.M.

She worked out of her home as a hypnotist, astrologer and artist. She also worked as a taxidermist.

She was member of the Pacific Northwest Art Association and Unity Church.

Her husband, Paul Phegley, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Robert Carroll of Spokane; a daughter, Theresa Bentley of Deer Park; a sister, LaVerne Peterson of Post Falls; and a brother, Joseph Wilson of Wallula, Wash.

Mike Nagy Rathdrum, Idaho

Memorial service for Mike Nagy, 71, will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at S. 3635 Smith Road in Rathdrum. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Nagy, who was born in Michigan, died Saturday.

He grew up in Montana and served in the Army during World War II and was discharged in 1951. He later settled in California.

He had worked on dairy ranches and sawmills and was a gold panner.

He moved to Athol in 1972 before moving to Centralia, Wash., where he worked in maintenance at the Lewis-Clark Hotel.

He recently moved to Rathdrum.

Mr. Nagy was divorced twice.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Nagy Jr. of Rathdrum, Larry Langston of Port Townsend, Wash., and Leland Nagy of Post Falls; five daughters, Christine Dobbins, Linda Jimerson, Jodena Nagy and Brenda Peterlin, all of California, and Lurene Tobeck of Portland; three brothers, Carl, Al and Joe Nagy, all of Montana; and two sisters, Virginia Nagy of Florida and Betty Springer of Montana.

Lois Harrison Spokane

Memorial service for Lois E. Harrison 73, will be at 7 p.m. today at Valley Fourth Memorial Church. There will be private graveside service at Saltese Cemetery in Greenacres. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harrison, who was born in Ingomar, Mont., died Sunday in an automobile accident.

She was raised in Spokane, and graduated from North Central High School.

In 1940 she married George “Cal” Harrison in Spokane.

She worked as a bookkeeper for East Valley High School for several years and retired in 1984.

She was a volunteer with the Valley Hospital and Medical Center Auxiliary and Teen Aid. She was a member of Valley Fourth Memorial Church.

Mrs. Harrison is survived by her husband, George “Cal” Harrison; four sons, Rex “Larry” Harrison of Chattaroy, Wash., Steven Harrison of Denver, and Michael and Jon Harrison, both of Spokane; two sisters, June Baker of Newman Lake, Wash., and Carol Harrison of Spokane; a brother, Glenn Travis of Loon Lake; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Fourth Memorial Church.

Ethel Harder-Rounds Spokane

No service will be held for Ethel V. Harder-Rounds, 87.

Mrs. Harder-Rounds, who died July 2, was born in Minnesota.

She was a 65-year Spokane resident.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lanceworth Harder and Bud Rounds.

Survivors include two sons, Duane Harder of Libby, Mont., and Richard Harder of Spokane; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
