Principal’s Resignation Opens Up East Farms Job
East Farms Elementary School needs a new principal, in the wake of last week’s resignation by Principal Jim Hammond.
A community meeting at 7 p.m. on July 18 will be held at the school. East Valley Schools Superintendent Chuck Stocker wants to hear from parents what qualities they want in the East Farms new principal.
Stocker hopes a screening committee will be able to recommend a new principal to the school board by July 30.
Hammond, who has been mayor of Post Falls for several years, resigned his job so as to be able to pursue the job of city manager in Post Falls.
“Nobody knows that city better than he does,” Stocker said.
As a principal, Hammond’s major strength has been “his ability to work with people, both in the community and the staff,” Stocker said.
The district will choose parents to join a committee to screen candidates for the principal’s job. , DataTimes
