Fire Damages North Spokane Duplex

From Staff Reports

A fire that heavily damaged a duplex in north Spokane on Tuesday night forced the evacuation of at least two people, authorities said.

People from a nearby bowling alley could see the fire in the 1300 block of North Atlantic about 10 p.m., Spokane fire Capt. Greg Cornelius said.

No one was injured in the fire, which started in the bathroom of one of the units and spread into the attic, Cornelius said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Cornelius said he believed two people lived in the damaged unit. They were expected to stay with friends. , DataTimes
