When Chips Are Down, Take Dorothy Dinius

Ladies golf

Painted Hills Ladies Club golfer Dorothy Dinius had a hot club, making chip-ins on both the third and seventh holes during this week’s play.

She finished with a low net 33 for C flight golfers during the outing.

Other net winners were Judy Watts with 32 in A flight, Nancy Lochmiller with 31 in B flight and Kay Duchesne with 33 in D flight.

Low gross winners were Joan McGree with 47 in A flight and Carol McLean with 50 in B.

Shelly Van made a birdie on the fourth hole and scored 54 in C flight. Judy Thies shot 60 in D and Arlene Koth had a no-handicap 56.

Other chipper golfers were Arleen Espe and Ottilie Schreiner with chip-ins on six and Mary Schindler with a chip-in on three.

Clayton scorching at Valley View

Valley View Ladies Club golfer Terry Clayton turned in a scorching round during medal play last week.

She shot low gross 37 in A flight to win the day handily. In B flight Helen Inman and Carol Maycock shot 54. Nola Russell had 58 in C flight and Jan Askey shot a no-handicap 56.

Low net winners included Min Arnold and Dee Elder with 31s in A flight. Edith Rains had 33 in B and Anne DeLong 31 in C.

Liberty Lake ladies go halfsies

With half its 18-hole golf club members playing at the Twin Lakes Invitational, the other half played half the holes at Liberty Lake and used half-handicap to determine weekly winners.

In A flight Jackie Shea and Louise Newtson shot low gross 42 and Yvonne Splan had a net 36-1/2.

B flight went to Carol Alboucq with a 46 and Jean Fulks netted 35.

In C flight, Ella Leinwebber shot 50 and Deanna Ranniger netted 35.

Jean Krogseth had 53 in D flight and Ethel Rankin netted 34.
