Boat Launch Ready This Weekend

A new boat launch on the north end of Fernan Lake should be ready for use this weekend, according to the Kootenai County Parks and Waterways Department.

Workers poured concrete and were putting the finishing touches on an approach ramp to the project this week. The county received a $12,310 grant from the state Waterways Improvement Fund to upgrade the dock and launch.

The area was closed earlier this week to allow freshly-poured concrete to dry.

The county’s next project is a new boat launch and new docks at Spokane Point, across the lake from Harrison. The improvements also are being funded by a state grant.
