Quintuplets Turn One Month Old
They turned 1 month old this week, five times over.
The Bowman quintuplets, born June 20, are still being cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center. They’re the first live quintuplets born in the state of Washington.
Several of the babies have experienced problems typical of premature births, such as infections and the need for respiratory and nutritional support.
All of the babies have gained weight and have been weaned off respirators. Three are feeding independently.
The five range in weight from Clint Eugene, at 4 pounds, 8 ounces, to Danielle Marie, at 2 pounds, 12 ounces.
The first of the babies may be discharged from the hospital in two to three weeks.
Parents Joyce and Roger Bowman have commuted between their home in Pasco and an apartment at Sacred Heart, along with their 6-year-old son, Matthew.
