Students Selected As Mathematics Fellows

Western Washington University recently selected the following 1996-97 mathematics fellows:

Elizabeth Williams, daughter of Richard and Burma Williams, Pullman, is a junior mathematics; Julianne Connell, daughter of Ron and Donna Connell, Spokane, is a mathematics and Spanish major; Bill Dirks, son of Mike and Suree Dirks, Spokane, is a junior biochemistry major; Paul Komarek, son of Deloris Komarek, Spokane, is a junior mathematics major; and Andrew Richardson, son of Kent and Diane Richardson, Spokane, is a freshman physics and mathematics major.

The following Inland Northwest students were among the 404 students named to the Gonzaga University President’s List for spring semester. Students must earn at least a 3.7 or higher gradepoint average for the semester to be listed.

Katherine E. Anselmo, a senior history major at Seattle University, attended the 10th Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She presented an original historical research paper titled, “What’s in a Name?: Naming Customs in Early America,” and her scholarship will be published in the conference’s proceedings.

Anselmo was also named to the President’s List at the university, maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average for spring quarter 1996.

She is the daughter of Frank and Patricia Anselmo and a 1993 graduate of Mead High School.

Megan Undeberg, a biological sciences major at Washington State University, was recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa. A resident of Lind, Wash., she also received a President’s Award from the university.

Jonathan Forrester, a student at the Oregon Institute of Technology, has been named to the President’s List for spring 1996. Students must earn a 3.7 or higher to be named to the list.
