Orr and firefighters made fishing trip special

The special education students and staff of East Valley Middle School would like to express our sincere appreciation to George Orr and the Valley firefighters for the wonderful fishing trip to Bear Lake May 22.

For many of our students, this was their first fishing trip, and George and the firefighters outdid themselves in making this an enjoyable and successful outing. George took the time to speak to nearly every child individually, and the firefighters were on hand every minute, handing out advice and encouragement, admiring fish, baiting hooks, and ensuring that every child had a great experience.

Making a difference in children’s lives starts with small kindnesses, and this fishing trip will be remembered as the highlight of the year for our students.
