Enumclaw Woman New Mrs. Washington
A 26-year-old Enumclaw woman won Saturday night’s Mrs. Washington International Pageant held at the Ridpath Hotel.
Linda Matthews beat out 12 other contestants from around the state to claim the crown. Matthews, who has been married 4-1/2 years, works in sales.
Matthews now moves on to compete in the Mrs. USA International pageant in Tyler, Texas, in August.
Heidi Ritz-Stephens, a 30-year-old flight nurse from Spokane, won first runner-up. Robin Peterson, 34, of Spokane, was named second runner-up after winning first runner-up in 1995.
Ritz-Stephens and Peterson, a mother of three, were two of eight contestants from the Spokane area.
Contestants were judged on three categories: the personal interview, aerobic wear and evening gown.
A coronation ball immediately followed the pageant. , DataTimes
