Injured Boy’s Condition Improves

A nine-year-old Chilco, Idaho, boy’s condition was upgraded to serious Sunday, a day after he was accidentally shot in the neck by his older brother.

Jonathan L. Breitkreutz is hospitalized at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Police believe the boy’s 12-year-old brother, Anthony J. Breitkreutz, fired the rifle around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, while the boys were playing with it. The older brother apparently didn’t intend to hurt his younger brother.

The boys were inside a mobile home at 22705 N. Estates Road, about 12 miles north of Coeur d’Alene, when the gun went off. , DataTimes
