Man Drowns Near Grouse Creek Falls

An 18-year-old man drowned Sunday while swimming near Grouse Creek Falls, the Bonner County Sheriff’s Department said.

The man was reported drowning at 12:43 p.m. near the falls, 15 miles north of Sandpoint, a dispatcher said.

The body was later located by sheriff’s deputies and a dive rescue team.

Authorities didn’t know whether the man had gone over the falls.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. , DataTimes
