Soy Sauce Maker Mulls Oregon Plant

Compiled From Wire Services

Japan’s largest maker of soy sauce may build a $35 million plant in Oregon.

The Kikkoman Corp. said Monday it is considering a site in Corvallis and one in Folsom, Calif., for a factory that would produce 2.6 million gallons of soy sauce per year and initially employ 25 people.

The company already has a plant in Walmorth, Wis.

Kikkoman will select a location for the 100,000-square-foot plant this fall. It has signed options on 360 acres of land in south Corvallis.
