Know A Helpful Public Employee?

The woman who worked at the license tab office in the Spokane County Courthouse saw that the older man was quite frail and confused. He was looking for the office to pay his property taxes. She took him by the arm and in a soft voice said, “Here, I’ll show you.” She did.

We are looking for other stories of positive encounters you’ve had with government workers. Maybe one showed incredible kindness or was amazingly efficient and helpful in solving your problem. These can be city, state or federal employees in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

You don’t need to supply the government worker’s name, if you don’t have it. Just describe an incident and leave your name and a daytime phone number.

Call CityLine from a touch-tone phone at 458-8800 in Spokane or 765-8811 in North Idaho. Punch in category 9882. Or write Rebecca Nappi, The Spokesman-Review, P.O. Box 2160, Spokane, WA. 99210-1615, or e-mail Rebeccan@spokesman.com, or fax 459-5098.
