Feathers On The Web
Birding
A photographer and the University of Georgia Museum of Natural History are collaborating to put birds on the coattail of public interest generated by the Atlanta Olympic Games.
So far, about 40 of an eventual 332 photo images called Southeastern Birds can be found on the Web at http://ervice.uga.edu/natmus/ birdphotos/birdpintro.html.
Dan Sudia, a retired scientist, shot the photos over 25 years. He spent the last year converting them into high-quality digital images.
They display faster than most full-screen images because of the way Sudia stripped them of unnecessary background details.
