Myrtle ‘June’ Harris Kellogg
Graveside service for Myrtle “June” Harris, 69, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harris, who was born in Seattle, died Monday.
She moved to the Silver Valley in 1947 from Seattle and was a homemaker and mother.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Wilbur “Jack” Harris; four sons, Allen Harris of Osburn, Idaho, Arthur Harris of Elko, Nev., Thomas Harris of Arkansas and Rick Harris of Wallace; four daughters, Jackie Arnold of Big Creek, Idaho, Ruley Black of Kellogg, Vickie Harris of Silverton, Idaho, and Karen Chapin of Kirkland, Wash.; one sister, Linnea Mattox of Davenport, Wash.; two stepbrothers, Larry and Gordon Anderson, both of Seattle; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.
Beatrice Grimes Spokane
No service will be held for Beatrice R. Grimes, 75. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Mrs. Grimes died Sunday.
She graduated from high school in LaCrosse, Wash., and from Kinman Business University.
She was a former Coulee Dam resident and had worked in Bonners Ferry as a bookkeeper for a car dealership.
She is survived by two sons Lee Grimes of Battle Ground, Wash., and Ray Grimes of Spokane; one daughter Trudy Seeley of Middlebury, Vt.; and seven grandchildren.
Donna Cochran Garfield, Wash.
Service for Donna M. Cochran, 60, is planned for 2 p.m. today at Garfield Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Garfield Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cochran, who died Saturday, was born in Tekoa, Wash.
In the early 1940s her family moved to Garfield, where she graduated from high school.
She married Bernard Cochran in 1955 in Garfield, and they farmed south of Garfield before retiring in 1992.
Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Garfield Community Church and the Ladow Grange and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard “Bernie” Cochran; one son, Craig Cochran of Garfield; three daughters, Carol Cochran and Paula Ordway, both of Spokane, and Barbara Cochran of Moscow, Idaho; one brother, Bill Steen of Lewiston; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Garfield Community Church or the American Cancer Society.
Lila Fay Pointer Spokane
Service for Lila Fay Pointer will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pointer, 81, died Sunday.
She was born in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
She and her husband, Howard Pointer, had operated Valley Glass Co.
Her husband died in 1986.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Pointer, and one daughter, Judy Shane, both of Spokane; one sister, Jean Silver of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Richard Laurich Spokane
Visitation for Richard R. Laurich, 74, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeSouth. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Opportunity Free Methodist Church.
Mr. Laurich, who died Saturday, was born in Kenaston, Saskatchewan.
He graduated from high school in Kalispell, Mont., and served in the merchant marine during World War II.
He moved to Spokane 50 years ago and worked as a salesman with Blake, Moffit and Towne Paper, Spokane Film, and Hegge Realty. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of Tyrian Lodge No. 96, Scottish Rite Bodies and the El Katif Shrine.
His wife of 41 years, Letha “Rudy” Laurich, died in 1989.
He is survived by three daughters Sharon Cox and Linda Nelson, both of Spokane, and Shelley Brian of Winchester, Idaho; two sons, Richard Laurich of Spokane and Rob Laurich of Newport, Wash.; two brothers, Norman Laurich of Bothell, Wash., and Donald Laurich of Coeur d’ Alene; one sister, Eleanor Holt of Brewster, Wash.; and 14 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Gary Zehm Fairfield
Memorial service for Gary S. Zehm, 45, will be at 3 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Private burial at the Mount Hope Cemetery near Fairfield will precede the service. Schanzenbach Funeral Home of Fairfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Zehm, who died Saturday at home, was born in Fairfield.
He was a Liberty High School graduate and received a business administration degree from Eastern Washington University.
He had worked in the chemical fertilizer business.
He married Carla Bareither in 1972 in Fairfield.
He was a member of Waverly Masonic Lodge No. 231.
Mr. Zehm is survived by his wife; one daughter, Bree Zehm at home; his father and stepmother, Leonard and Beth Zehm of Fairfield; three brothers, Dwight Zehm of Whidbey Island, Wash., Barry Zehm of Phoenix, Ariz., and Keith Zehm of Deer Park; one sister, Polly Zehm Crane of Yakima; and his grandfather, Ervin Zehm of Fairfield.

Henry Thompson Spokane
Funeral Mass for Henry W. “Hank” Thompson, 60, is set for 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson, who died Sunday, was born in Spokane.
He graduated from high school in Reardan, Wash.
In 1965 he married Mary Ellen Vache in Richland.
He worked for the Spokane Steel Foundry and retired in 1994. He then started Mercury Design, a graphics company he operated for the past two years.
Mr. Thompson was a member and newsletter editor of the Inland Empire Mustang Club and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He served in the Army as a first lieutenant.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years; five daughters, Melissa Anderson and Bridget Mayfield, both of Spokane, Tami Dagsaan of San Antonio, Texas, Amy Whitsett of Newman Lake and Megan Shirley of Riddle, Ore.; his twin brother, Harold Thompson of Davenport, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Arthur Corbett Spokane
Memorial service for Arthur J. Corbett, 78, is set for 1 p.m. today at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Corbett, a retired Spokane Police sergeant, died Sunday.
He was born in Bass River, Nova Scotia, and graduated from North Central High School. He drove for Greyhound Bus Lines for 10 years before joining the Spokane Police Department.
He served in the patrol division, traffic division, as a detective in the young people’s bureau and as the head of the department’s licensing office. He was also involved with the safety education office, working with elementary schoolchildren. He was promoted to sergeant in 1969 and retired in 1973.
Mr. Corbett was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Zoe Corbett; one son, Bruce Corbett of Spokane; one daughter, Carole Tinsley of Spokane; one sister, Bertha Perno of Spokane; three stepbrothers; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association of Washington.
Mary Wollman Warden, Wash.
Service for Mary Wollman, 89, will be at 1 p.m. today at Warden Hutterian Church. Burial will follow at the Warden Hutterian Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wollman, who was born in Spink County, S.D., died Sunday at home.
She and her husband, Elias Wollman, moved from Fort Mcleod, Alberta, to Lind, Wash., in 1956. In 1961 they moved to Reardan, Wash., and in 1972 to Warden.
She was a member of the Hutterian Colony, and she and her husband were one of the oldest living married couples in the Hutterian colonies.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years; three sons, Jacob, Walter and Eli Wollman Jr., all of Warden; five daughters, Mary and Lizzy Hofer, both of Regina, Saskatchewan, Susie Hofer of Walsh, Alberta, Katie Walter of Biggar, Saskatchewan, and Lydia Tschetter of Fort McLeod, Alberta; one brother, Peter Hofer of Dawson Creek, British Columbia; and four sisters, Susanna Tschetter of Minburn, Alberta, Rebecca Walter of Pincher Creek, Alberta, Katie Gross of Warden and Sarah Tschetter of Irma, Alberta.
Edward Machacek Spokane
Graveside service for Edward E. Machacek, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Machacek, who died Saturday, was born in Weston, Neb.
He moved west following World War II and married Eleanor Callahan of Spokane in 1950.
He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad and then for Armour Meats. He retired 14 years ago from the Coast Trading Co.
He was a Catholic.
Mr. Machacek is survived by his wife; one son, Steven Machacek of Spokane; one stepson, Rod Calahan of Spokane; one daughter, Vickie Jarvimaki of Seattle; one stepdaughter, Shirley Morrow of Fairfield, Calif.; one brother, George Machacek of Lincoln, Neb.; one sister, Vivian Noha of Wahoo, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Oscar Erickson Grand Coulee
Visitation for Oscar W. Erickson, 94, is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur, Wash., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Creston (Wash.) Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Erickson, a former longtime Wilbur resident, died Saturday. He was born in Creston, Wash.
He graduated from Creston High School and worked for nearly 30 years in maintenance at the Wilbur School. He was given a special honorary graduate award at Wilbur School.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie Warnecke of Coulee Dam; one son, Duane Erickson of Spokane; four stepchildren, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
