Unidentified Pilot Dies In Plane Crash
A single-engine plane crashed near Pomeroy, Wash., killing a man Thursday night.
A witness saw blue smoke coming from the plane before it crashed at 6:58 p.m. on a hill a mile south of Pomeroy, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department said. Pomeroy is roughly 30 miles southwest of Pullman.
The name of the victim was being withheld pending a check of dental records, the sheriff’s department said.
Federal Aviation Administration officials were expected to arrive today to investigate the crash.
