Suspect Arrested After Man Shot Outside Convenience Store
A Spokane man suffered minor injuries when he was shot Friday night outside a North Side convenience store.
Spokane police searched the area and arrested 27-year-old Victor Douglas on suspicion of first-degree assault.
Police found the 34-year-old victim at the Conoco Convenience Store at 5803 N. Market about 7:45 p.m.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds to an arm and leg. He was treated at a hospital emergency room and released.
Witnesses told police the suspected gunman had run west in an alley from the store. Police found four shell casings in the alley where the shooting occurred, along with a spent slug.
Police spotted Douglas at Central and Lacey. They also found a jacket Douglas was seen wearing in the convenience store, and a small caliber semiautomatic gun.
After the shooting, Douglas had apparently gone to his apartment at 3003 E. Columbia, changed clothes and left. Police were obtaining a search warrant for Douglas’ apartment late Friday.
