Manning Quits To Focus On Campaign
Don Manning is retiring as Spokane County’s chief criminal deputy sheriff in order to focus on his campaign for county commissioner.
A formal retirement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Public Safety Building.
The law enforcement career of the sheriff’s captain has spanned more than 35 years. He announced in March that he is running as a Republican for the seat held by Commissioner Steve Hasson.
Other announced candidates are Republican Kate McCaslin and Democrat Ron Hormann, the former county engineer.
