Harold Clark Mead

Family service for Harold R. Clark, 71, will be today at the family home. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clark, who died Tuesday, was born in Denver.

He served in the Merchant Marines from 1943 until 1946.

He worked as district manager for Grange Mutual Life Insurance, and later opened H.R. Clark and Associates, an independent insurance agency. He retired three years ago. Mr. Clark was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Shriners, and the Masons Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Clark; two sons, Richard Clark of Milton-Freewater, Ore., and David Clark of Spokane; two daughters, Barbara Clark-Madsen and Helen Costin, both of Spokane; one sister, Edith Coons of Stockton, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Clarice White Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Clarice White, 62, was held Thursday in Big Wells, Texas. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. White, who was born in Austin, Ind., died Feb. 15.

She was raised in Austin before moving to Texas in 1949. She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1991 to be near her children.

Mrs. White enjoyed crocheting, canning, gardening, fishing and camping.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Sidney, in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Sidney White Jr. of Coeur d’Alene and Robert White of Hayden, Idaho; a daughter, June Murphree of Spirit Lake, Idaho; two brothers, Harold Brophy of South Carolina and Earl Brophy of Indiana; five grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

George Dietz Spokane

Service for George E. Dietz, 85, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riverside Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dietz died Thursday. He was born in Fairbanks, Iowa.

A 47-year Spokane resident, Mr. Dietz worked for the state of Washington as a purchaser for many years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and had served in the Army infantry during World War II.

He is survived by one son, Donald Dietz of Spokane; one daughter, Marilyn Green of Portland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Floriene Wehman Pinehurst

At her request, no service will be held for Floriene May Wehman, 75. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Wehman, a former Spokane resident, died Thursday.

She was born and raised in Spokane and moved to the Silver Valley in 1983. She worked as a dental lab assistant.

She was an Army veteran and a member of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corp.

Survivors include a sister, Marjorie McBroom of California; two nieces, Marsha Johnson and Patricia Riggins, both of Seattle; and nephew, John Wehman of Seattle.

Sally Fred Spokane

Service for Sally R. (Rhodes) Fred, 40, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Private burial will follow. Riplinger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born in Port Angeles, Wash., Ms. Fred died Thursday.

She was a longtime Spokane resident and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Donald and Christopher Bowen, both of Spokane; one daughter, Amanda Fred of Spokane; two sisters, Nancy Wickham of Spokane, and Susan Rhodes of Port Angeles; her father, Frank Rhodes of Port Angeles; her fiance, David Flanary of Spokane, and one granddaughter.
