Lousiana Tech (25-1) received 35 of 39 first-place votes to remain an overwhelming choice for No. 1 in the women’s college basketball poll.
The Lady Techsters were followed by Connecticut (25-3), Stanford (23-2), Tennessee (26-4) and Georgia (23-4).
At Chattanooga, Tenn., Abby Conklin’s 3-pointer with 7.8 seconds left gave Tennessee a 64-60 victory over No. 13 Alabama (22-7) for the Southeastern Conference tournament championship.
At Indianapolis, Angie Potthoff’s 29 points powered No. 9 Penn State (25-6) to a 71-69 victory over No. 14 Purdue (20-10), giving the Lions their second straight Big Ten tournament title.
At Salina, Kan., Erin Scholz scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures for No. 19 Colorado (25-8) in a 75-47 victory over No. 20 Kansas (20-9) in the Big Eight tournament title game.
