Record Production Boosts Coeur Profits

Record gold production returned Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp. to profitability in 1995.

The improved results came despite continued losses in the fourth quarter. Coeur lost $1.1 million, or 7 cents per share, in the last three months of 1995, compared with a loss of $1.7 million, or 11 cents a share, for the same period in 1994.

For the year, Coeur made $1.2 million, or 7 cents a share. That compares with a 1994 loss of $3.9 million, or 26 cents a share.

Coeur mines produced 167,985 ounces of gold, easily beating the company’s previous record of 129,239 ounces set in 1994.

The company also enjoyed increased silver production in 1995, reporting a 16 percent increase from 1994. , DataTimes
