Dollar Falls Vs. Key Currencies

The dollar fell slightly against most major currencies Thursday after giving up early gains when mixed U.S. economic data failed to sustain interest in the greenback.

The dollar rose against the German mark and the Japanese yen during Asian and European trading, but retreated during U.S. trading.

By 4 p.m. in New York, the dollar was quoted at 105.25 yen, down from 105.40 yen late Wednesday. The dollar was changing hands at 1.4763 marks, down from 1.4770 marks.
