Dale Morgan Colville, Wash.
Service for Dale E. Morgan, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville. Burial will be at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
Mr. Morgan, who died Tuesday, was born in Zanesville, Ohio.
He served in the Air Force for three years as a mechanic.
While he was stationed in Spokane, he met Dorothy Bugenhagen, and they were married in 1953.
Mr. Morgan worked as a salesman at McCollum Ford and Appleway Chevrolet. He also drove route trucks for Mary Ann Bakeries and Farmers Brothers Coffee Co.
He and his family moved to Colville in 1968, and he worked as a salesman for Dominion Motors before he went into business with his son, Kevin, at Colville Saw and Yamaha, which they operated from 1976 until 1981. He also worked for Plum Creek Lumber before he retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Colville City Council from 1973 until 1975 and the Arden Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Kevin Morgan of Colville; his parents, Monty and Alma Morgan of Zanesville; one sister, Coralee Wilson of Zanesville; and three grandsons.

Dorothy Sorensen Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy M. Sorensen, 85, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, Wash. Family graveside service will precede at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport. Strate Funeral Home of Davenport is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sorensen died Tuesday. She was born in Mahoning Township, Pa.
She graduated from high school in Grangeville, Idaho.
She married Hans Sorensen in 1933. They farmed in Creston, Wash., until 1937, when they moved to the Davenport area. They farmed south of Davenport until 1960, when Mr. Sorensen died.
In 1963 Mrs. Sorensen moved to Spokane.
She was a member of Shadle Park Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Don Sorensen of Almira, Wash., Carl Sorensen of Davenport and Jim Sorensen of Nine Mile Falls; three daughters, Shirley Gerback of Cascade, Idaho, Karen White of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Chris Bailey of Spokane; one sister, Maude Morgan of Spokane; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Harriet Wurst Silverton, Idaho
Graveside service for Harriet C. Wurst, 84, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Cemetery. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Wurst, who was born in Leadville, Colo., died Tuesday.
She graduated from the St. Scholastica Academy in Colorado before moving to the Silver Valley in 1942.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Mullan, Idaho.
She enjoyed traveling and cooking.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Emil; one daughter, Mary Lou Bilte of Osburn, Idaho; two grandsons, Steven of Spokane and Gregory of California; and seven great-grandchildren.

Hilda Meier Spokane
Service for Hilda L. (Menke) Meier, 88, was Thursday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial was at Riverside Memorial Park. Mrs. Meier died Tuesday.
She was born in Washington state.
She graduated from high school in Wilbur, Wash.
She married Herman Meier in 1930, and they settled on the family ranch near Creston, Wash., where they lived until moving to Spokane in 1956.
Mrs. Meier was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1993.
She is survived by one son, Dean Meier of Spokane; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
R.L. ‘Heldy’ Heldenbrand Spokane
Memorial service for R.L. “Heldy” Heldenbrand, 70, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at North Hill Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Heldenbrand, who died Tuesday, was born in St. Elmo, Ill.
He served in the Navy and Air Force and retired in 1965.
He then started his 20-year career with Old National Bank, working in the graphic services department. He retired as supervisor in 1986.
He was a member of North Hill Masonic Lodge No. 210, Scottish Rite Bodies, El Katif Shrine and North Spokane Shrine Club.
His wife, Dolores, died in 1993.
He is survived by one son, Dick Heldenbrand of Spokane; one daughter, Kathy Nickerson of Spokane; his mother, Flossie Heldenbrand of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Jahalia Paselk of Sun City, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Margaret G. Ogilvie Spokane
Service for Margaret G. Ogilvie, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Miss Ogilvie died Monday. She was a lifetime Spokane resident.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
Miss Ogilvie served in the Army from 1943 to 1945.
She was a food-service worker at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
She had lived in her home for 92 years.
Survivors include cousins Betty Kaiser of Valley, Wash., Cecil Bates of Ocean Park, Wash., and Myra Cook and Evelyn Scanlon, both of Seattle.

Barbara Enevold Spokane
Burial Mass for Barbara J. Enevold, 68, is planned for 7 p.m. Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Private burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Enevold, who died Tuesday, was born in Coeur d’Alene.
She was a homemaker and was a longtime Spokane resident.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ken Enevold; one son, Loren Graves; one sister, Evelyn O’Coyne; and one grandson.

Helen Steiger Coupeville, Wash.
Visitation for Helen M. Steiger, a former Spokane resident, will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at noon at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Visser Funeral Home of Langley, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Steiger died Saturday in Coupeville, where she had lived for the past year and a half. She was born in Billings, Mont.
She spent most of her adult life in Spokane and was a member of Central Christian Church.
She was a homemaker.
Two husbands, Robert Joyner and Paul Wolfe, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Spencer of Mesa, Ariz., and Carolyn Byrne of Greenbank, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Plewman of Spokane and Dorothea Gerstenberger of Seattle; one sister, Frances Bartlett of Spokane; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Earl Atkinson Burbank, Calif.
Visitation for Earl Atkinson, 94, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Peone Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Atkinson, a former Green Bluff resident, died Feb. 29. He was born in Dartford, Wash.
He was the son of a pioneer Green Bluff family and, until 1980, had 100 acres of orchards in Green Bluff. While Mr. Atkinson was recovering in the hospital from a heart attack, his wife, Elsie, sold the leases on the orchards to ensure a quiet convalescence.
In 1923, due to the mechanical breakdown of his Model-T Ford, he wasn’t able to carry his strawberry harvest to Spokane. He agreed to let the mechanics from his service station pick their own strawberries for 50 cents a crate. They told their neighbors, and about 100 people ended up picking berries in Mr. Atkinson’s fields. This is believed to be the start of a long tradition that many Green Bluff farmers still allow.
He had been a member of the Green Bluff Grange since 1932.
His wife preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters, Florence Hill of Burbank, Irene Sparber of Spokane and Bea Magley of Bellevue, Wash.; one brother, Frank Atkinson of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Floy Hutchinson of Spokane; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Betty Barbre Harrington, Wash.
Memorial service for Betty G. Barbre, 82, will be at 11 a.m. today at Harrington Community Congregational Church. Private graveside service will precede at Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrington. Strate Funeral Home of Davenport is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Gould City, Mich., Mrs. Barbre died Tuesday.
She moved to Columbia Falls, Mont., as a child and later moved to the Spokane Valley. She graduated from Central Valley High School.
In 1934 she married Ralph Barbre, and they moved to Harrington.
She was a member of Harrington Community Congregational Church, Bluestem Grange, and the Harrington Golf and Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; three daughters, Anita Franklin and Laura Bischoff, both of Spokane, and Doris Murphy of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Paul Fitchner Coeur d’Alene
Private family service for Paul W. Fitchner, 82, will be held later. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fitchner, a lifetime Coeur d’Alene resident, died Monday.
He worked as a self-employed logger and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, LeElla; a son, Frank Fitchner of Missouri; a stepson, Bill Rehard of Reno, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Kay McMillan of Post Falls, Patricia Rohde of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Joy Nutting of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Walter Fitchner of Spokane; and 14 grandchildren.
Mary Dean Spokane
Service for Mary L. Dean, 96, will be at 11 a.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at the Chattaroy Cemetery.
Born in Kamas, Utah, Mrs. Dean died Monday.
She had been a camp cook at Yellowstone National Park.
Mrs. Dean had lived in Spokane for 61 years and worked at Goodwill Industries. She was also a homemaker.
Her husband, Gilbert Dean, died in 1946.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia Leigh of Aguila, Ariz.; three sons, Gilbert Dean of Grants Pass, Ore., Henry Dean of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Keith Dean of Las Vegas, Nev.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lyle Fuson Sr. Medical Lake
Service for Lyle E. Fuson Sr., 80, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Fuson died Feb. 29 in Yuma, Ariz., where he and his wife were traveling.
He was born in Ritzville.
Mr. Fuson had lived in Medical Lake since 1936 and was an estimator for W.M.F.L.P., an architecture firm, now Integrus Architecture. He retired in 1980 after 20 years.
He had been a member of the Medical Lake City Council.
Mr. Fuson is survived by his wife of 57 years, Opal Fuson; one son, Lyle Fuson of Mead; one daughter, Janet DeLong of Copalis Beach, Wash.; one sister, Maybelle Gifford of Spokane; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Merlin Peterson Spokane
Service for Merlin Peterson, 90, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Peterson, a 55-year Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
He was born in Black River Falls, Wis.
Mr. Peterson had farmed in Eastern Montana before he moved to Spokane 55 years ago. He worked at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children for many years.
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Peterson is survived by two brothers, Orin Peterson of Sacramento, Calif., and Rufus Peterson of Kennewick; and one foster granddaughter.
