Princess Diana Wants $45 Million

Princess Diana wants Buckingham Palace to pay her more than $45 million - twice the settlement she was offered - to divorce Prince Charles, a tabloid reported Thursday.

The Sun said the palace wanted Diana to take a one-time, clean-break payment of 15 million pounds, or $22.8 million, and that the princess rejected the offer, telling unidentified friends: “The price of a deal with me is a lot higher.”

The paper reported she had demanded 30 million pounds, or $45.6 million. There was no independent confirmation of the report.
