The Bon Marche’s parent company, Federated Department Stores, has selected a Seattle architectural firm to design its Spokane Valley Mall store.

The Bon Marche will be an anchor tenant at the proposed 100-store mall, on which work is scheduled to begin this spring. The mall is due to open in August of 1997.

Sclater Kimball Architects will design the two-story, 120,360-square-foot Bon Marche scheduled for completion in September of 1997.

With more than 590 stores in 36 states, Federated is one of the nation’s largest retailers and is parent to such chains as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Burdines.

Among Sclater Kimball’s other projects are the design and renovation of the The Bon’s Bellevue Square store, the proposed entertainment and cinema complex at Bellevue Place, and the urban redevelopment of Uwajimaya Asian Market in Seattle’s International District. , DataTimes
