Anchorman Broadcasts His Stalker’s Arrest

Compiled From Wire Services

Steve Levy was anchoring his regular 5:30 a.m. newscast on station WCAU Tuesday when he learned that Atlantic City police were chasing an ‘88 Oldsmobile at speeds of up to 100 miles an hour.

As live pictures were broadcast from a Channel 10 chopper, Levy described the action - unaware that the Olds driver who would lead police through three states in 90 minutes was Preston Harvey Lit.

The Philadelphia man had been stalking Levy for three years, convinced the newsman was Jesus Christ, authorities said.

After eluding state police in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, Lit was finally caught by Delaware troopers on Interstate 95 near Wilmington about 6:30 a.m.
