Burke, Maggert Share Lead
Fast-rolling greens brought out the best in Patrick Burke and Jeff Maggert, who shared the lead after the second round of the Bay Hill Invitational at Orlando, Fla. Burke shot a 6-under-par 66 while Maggert did him one better by closing with four straight birdies in shooting a 65. That put them at 7-under 137 and gave them a one-stroke lead over Mike Hulbert and Glen Day.
Former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett has a two-day total of 1-over par 145.
Tucson, Ariz., Patty Sheehan, who had four saves and a three-putt for par in the first eight holes, birdied six of the last 10 to complete the round at 7-under-par 137 and tie Michelle McGann for the lead at the Ping-Welch’s Championship at Tucson, Ariz.
Tracy Hanson of Rathdrum, Idaho, shot 37 for a two-day total of 1-over total of 73.
Lee Trevino and Jim Colbert were among five players who carded 3-under-par 68s to share the first-round lead in the $1 million Toshiba Senior PGA Classic at Newport Beach, Calif.
