Average foot size of women ages 18 to 30 now is reported to be between 8 and 8-1/2. Average of women ages 35 to 55 is about one size smaller. Specialists credit improved nutrition from decade to decade for this continuing female foot growth.

The Union Army in the Civil War sometimes managed to put like individuals together. History records certain platoons, even some companies, were made up entirely of farmers. Or butchers. Or musicians. In one platoon of record, every soldier had been a prize fighter.

Credit the Creek Indians with the naming of the Cherokee - to them the word meant “people of a different speech.” Who named the Creeks I don’t know, but why is clear: They lived mostly along streams.
