Small Plane Crashes Into Car, Killing 4

Compiled From Wire Services

A small plane crashed onto a highway Saturday, killing four people, including a 4-year-old child riding in a car.

Police said the Piper Cherokee’s engine had failed and the pilot may have been trying to make an emergency landing in a cranberry bog about 300 feet from Interstate 495.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman taken from the vehicle died later at Tobey Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The plane’s pilot and passenger also died at the scene.
