Register Summer Vehicles Early

Don’t wait until the last minute to register your boat, recreational vehicle, camp trailer or utility trailer for Memorial Day weekend, the Idaho Department of Transportation warned.

The registration system is routinely swamped on the first and last day of every month, which delays the delivery of registrations.

County offices usually register five times the normal amount of vehicles on the Friday that starts the official Memorial Day weekend, according to DOT vehicle services manager Ed Pemble.

Some vacations could be disrupted if registration isn’t done ahead of time.

“If you want to avoid long lines and make certain everyone has an opportunity to get their vehicles registered, don’t wait,” Pemble said.
