Downed Pole Leaves 2,000 Without Power Wednesday

From Staff And Wire Reports

A downed Washington Water Power Co. transmission-line pole blacked-out nearly 2,000 homes in Lincoln and Stevens counties Wednesday night, authorities said.

About 1,500 homes served by Inland Power & Light Co. lost power in the 4 p.m. outage, a spokesman said. Power to those homes was restored in a few hours.

Hundreds more Washington Water Power customers were without electricity late Wednesday night.

Residents of Wilbur, Harrington, Creston and Almira were among those affected. , DataTimes
