Well-Dressed Thieves Steal Credit Cards From Schools

From Staff And Wire Reports

A pair of well-dressed thieves walked into two Puget Sound area elementary schools and walked out with credit cards from teachers’ purses left in unlocked classrooms, police say.

The two women apparently then ran up more than $12,000 in bogus charges on the stolen cards.

“They just carried themselves so well, that’s what makes them good at what they’re doing,” Kennydale Elementary School Principal Jim Ventris said. “They looked as if they were going directly to the office like most of our parents.”

Merchandise worth $10,000 was charged to the credit card of one of the Renton teachers. Bills of $1,000 each were rung up on the cards of the three others, Ventris said.
