Dollar Dips In Holiday Trading
The dollar gave back some of its recent gains against the Japanese yen Thursday and slipped against the German mark in trading curtailed by the Ascension Day holiday in Germany and France.
The dollar rose narrowly against other leading currencies and initially was stronger against the mark, but fell against the German currency in late U.S. trading.
After rising strongly against the yen the previous two days, the dollar retreated a bit.
