Free Flights Offered To Bombing Survivors
American Airlines offered Thursday to pick up the tab and fly survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing to Denver so they can attend the suspects’ trial.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline has committed to at least 200 round-trip flights for survivors and families who lost loved ones in the blast, said Jack Williams, vice president and general sales manager.
There is no cap on the number of free trips American could offer, Williams said. Tickets will be distributed through the United Way.
U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch moved the case to Denver in February, ruling that intense media coverage had tainted the jury pool in Oklahoma.
