Mild Quake In Se Idaho
A mild earthquake shook the ground near the Wyoming border, but no damage has been reported in Bear Lake County, the U.S. Geological Survey says.
The temblor occurred at 9:41 a.m., Thursday, about 10 miles northeast of Georgetown, Idaho, and 20 miles southwest of Afton, Wyo., said a spokesman for the agency’s National Earthquake Information Service in Boulder, Colo.
It measured 4.3 in magnitude, which would cause moderate damage, but there is little development in the locale.
The quake occurred in the same general area as one on Feb. 3, 1994, which registered 5.8, the center said.
