Wallman Medals At Open Qualifier

Professionals Clint Wallman of Spokane and Bart Turchin of Federal Way, Wash., shared medalist honors Friday with 2-under-par 70s in U.S. Open qualifying.

Wallman and Turchin led a field of 93 on the 6,282-yard Tacoma Country and Golf Club course vying for 10 berths in sectional qualifying.

Another area qualifier to advance was Spokane’s Mark Rohde, who shot 34-37 - 71.

The 36-hole Northwest sectional will be played June 3 at the Royal Oaks CC course in Vancouver, Wash.
