Rypien Building Horse Arena

When Mark Rypien’s kids want a place to play, he doesn’t horse around.

Although stadiums are usually more his thing, the St. Louis Rams quarterback and Post Falls resident is building a $123,456 horse arena in the Spokane Valley. The huge barn will be located at 23314 E. Euclid at River Run Estates, a planned community in Otis Orchards.

The facility will provide a place for his 7-year-old daughter, Amber, to ride during winter.

By June or July, the 10,288-square-foot structure should be complete.

The arena will sit next to a new home Rypien’s in-laws plan to move into.
