Stampeders Acquire Dickenson

The Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League acquired the rights to ex-Montana quarterback Dave Dickenson, agent Ken Staninger said.

The Stampeders received the rights in a trade with Toronto and negotiations are under way with Calgary, Staninger said. Toronto had obtained Dickenson, but then reached agreement with Doug Flutie.

The British Columbia Lions of the CFL signed former Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware.
