Prof Accused Of Harassment Leaves Job
A business professor at Eastern State University is no longer teaching after being accused of harassing people on campus.
James D. Ward, who had a one-year contract to teach graduate-level classes at the Riverpoint Higher Education Park, left his job May 2, said Stefanie Pettit, university spokeswoman.
A temporary faculty member was hired to take over the classes, she said.
University police are conducting a criminal investigation into allegations by a staff member and three students that Ward had been harassing people, Pettit said.
No details of the harassment were given.
“It is not correct to assume Professor Ward was fired,” Pettit said. “He was not.”
However, administrators said Ward could not continue to teach under a cloud of suspicion, Pettit said.
