Shoppers who enjoy clowning around at the mall can now get a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey credit card.

The offer adds to a growing circus of come-ons by credit card promoters, who are jumping through hoops to attract customers.

Irvin Feld & Kenneth Feld Productions Inc., a Virginia-based company that produces The Greatest Show On Earth circus and other live family shows, said Thursday that the card was a candy-cotton sweet deal.

There’s no annual fee and cash advanced on the Ringling MasterCard receives an introductory 5.9 percent interest rate. However, purchases will be charged the usual high-wire rate of about 18 percent.

Card users also will receive free tickets to the circus after the first purchase. Tickets to other Irvin Feld events such as Walt Disney’s World on Ice, will be available with each $500 charged on the card.

Promoters said the clown-faced card will be offered through MBNA America Bank in Delaware at 800-521-4443. Allow for three rings.
