Ruth Bley Spokane

Visitation for Ruth P. Bley, 82, is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Private burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Bley, who was born in LaCrosse, Wash., died Tuesday.

She graduated from Washington State College with a degree in home economics.

In 1938 she married John Bley in Lacrosse.

She taught at Port Townsend (Wash.) High School and lived in Holden, Wash., Nye, Mont., and White Pine, Mich.

They moved to Spokane 21 years ago, and Mrs. Bley was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Spokane College Women, Spokane Southside Republican Women’s Club and Hangman Valley Nine Hole Golf Club.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Joni Tonkovich of Pullman and Lynda Post of Moscow, Idaho; a son, John Bley of Olympia; three sisters, Irene Beaton, Bobbie Chapman and Joyce Manning; a brother, Howard Wigen; and two granddaughters.

Chris Hergenreder Spokane

Service for Chris L. Hergenreder, 35, will be at 11 a.m. today at Pines Cemetery Mausoleum. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hergenreder died Sunday in Seattle at the University of Washington Medical Center from complications due to diabetes.

He was born in Spokane, and graduated from University High School and the University of Washington.

She taught elementary school in the Central Valley School District.

Survivors include her mother, Irene Hergenreder of Spokane; a brother, Jim Hergenreder of Everett; and a sister, Lynn Hergenreder of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Betty Trapp Spokane

Service for Betty M. Trapp, 73, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Trapp, who was born in Luzerne, Pa., died Wednesday.

She had lived in Spokane for more than 50 years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Northeast Community Center and a charter member of Shadle Park Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Tom Trapp, and a daughter, Caralee Heuett, both of Spokane; a sister, Frances Westwood of Portland; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Alberta (Quinn) Miller Colville, Wash.

Memorial service for Alberta (Quinn) Miller, 95, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville.

Mrs. Miller, who died Monday, was born on a homestead near Red Deer, Alberta.

She moved to Spokane in 1913 with her family and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.

She received a teaching certificate from Cheney Normal School and became a country schoolteacher throughout the Spokane area.

She married John Miller in 1929. He was a captain with the Spokane Fire Department.

In 1958, Mrs. Miller received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and taught in Spokane and Bothell, Wash.

She retired in 1963, and in 1977 she and her husband moved to Colville.

She was a member of the local, state and national Retired Teachers Associations.

Her husband died in 1980.

Survivors include a son, John Miller of Colville; a brother, Thomas Quinn of Spanaway, Wash.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Monte Gaunt Spokane

Service for Monte E. Gaunt, 62, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Gaunt, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

He served in the Spokane Police Department for 30 years from 1962 to 1992 and retired as a detective.

He was a member of the MeadowWood and Liberty Lake Men’s Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rhea Gaunt; six children, Barbara, Jody and James Gaunt, all of Spokane, Tammy Gaunt of Vancouver, Wash., and Rick and Terri Williams, both of Seattle; a brother, Bill Gaunt of Springfield, Ore.; two sisters, Penny Prentice of Cheney, and Sally Fields and Connie Saxon, both of Spokane; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Spokane Humane Society.

Harry Stowell Spokane

Memorial service for Harry D. Stowell, 55, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Stowell died Sunday.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep and Eastern Washington University.

He served in the Army from 1962 to 1964 and sold real estate in Idaho.

Mr. Stowell is survived by his mother, Katherine Stowell of Spokane; four brothers, Pat Stowell of Anchorage, Paul Stowell of France, and Mike and Richard Stowell, both of Spokane; and two sisters, Delores Jolgen and Margaret Anselmo, both of Spokane.

Kimberly Kreb Spokane

Memorial service for Kimberly Anne Kreb, a 1992 graduate of Medical Lake High School, will be at 3 p.m. today at Wilbur (Wash.) Lutheran Church. Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Kreb, 22, died Wednesday at Deaconess Medical Center as a result of respiratory failure due to an acute asthma attack.

She was born in Japan.

She was a fifth-year student in biochemistry at Eastern Washington University and was treasurer and past president of the American Chemical Society Student Affiliate, EWU Chemistry Department.

She is survived by her parents, Bob and Debbie Kreb of Wilbur; a brother, Rob Kreb of Eugene, Ore.; her grandparents, Velma Waldal of Hillsboro, Ore., Robert and Billie Kreb of Rio Linda, Calif., Beverly and Lee Morris of Sacramento, Calif., and Arthur Crozier of Las Vegas, Nev.; her great-grandmother, Hilda Burkhardt of Forest Grove, Ore.; and her fiance, James “Chad” Green of Spokane.

Delbert Wigen Spokane

Service for Delbert C. Wigen, 86, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Wigen, who was born in Oslo, Minn., died Tuesday.

He had lived in Spokane for more than 80 years and worked as a lumberjack.

He served in the Army during World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters.

Mr. Wigen was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 and the Sons of Norway.

His wife, Ruth Wigen, died in 1984.

Survivors include two brothers, Leonard Wigen of Ritzville, Wash., and Edward Christopherson of Seattle; and a sister, Gladys Pryor of Spokane.

Mildred Randall St. Maries

Graveside service for Mildred G. Randall, 88, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Randall, who was born in Michigan, died Tuesday.

She had lived in Alberta before moving in the 1940s to Myrtle, Idaho, where she owned a dairy farm. She moved to St. Maries in 1958 and then Plummer, Idaho, in 1968.

Mrs. Randall moved to the Benewah Valley in 1973 and to the Valley Vista Care Center in 1991.

She was a member of the St. Maries Community Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Randall was preceded in death by her husband, Barnard, in 1983. Survivors include two stepsons, Tom Randall of St. Maries and Larry Randall of Utah; a stepdaughter, Donna Parkins of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother, Ed Sneva of Spokane; two sisters, Millicent Daniel of Elk and Evelyn Packard of Spokane; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Warren McLoughlin Spokane

No service will be held for Warren McLoughlin, 64, at his request. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McLoughlin, who died Monday, was born in Shelby, Mont., and had lived in Spokane for 39 years.

He worked as a barber from 1957 to 1969 and was a district manager in the circulation department of the Spokesman-Review from 1970 to 1987.

He had served in the Air Force and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Mr. McLoughlin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy McLoughlin; a son, Scott McLoughlin of Oregon; a daughter, Sandra Ellison of Turkey; three brothers, John and Gerald McLoughlin, both of Choteau, Mont., and James McLoughlin of Moses Lake; a sister, Josephine West of Choteau; and three grandchildren.

Maurice ‘Maury’ Post Spokane

Memorial service for Maurice “Maury” Post, 61, is set for 1 p.m. Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.

Mr. Post, who was born in Missoula, died Oct. 11 in Quartzsite, Ariz., where he spent the winter months.

He was a 25-year Spokane resident and was a city police officer in Sprague, Pasco and Pomeroy, Wash. He also served as a reserve officer for Lincoln County and as an officer with the Spokane Airport Police. He received several letters of commendation.

He is survived by three daughters, Dawn Mitchell, Julie Wheeler and Kimberly Post, all of Spokane; two sisters, Jo Ann Sullivan of Kennewick and Patsy Green of Spokane; a brother, David Post of Pasco; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Edna Henricksen Spokane

Family graveside service for Edna Henricksen, 94, will be held. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of cremation.

Miss Henricksen, a 25-year Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

She was born in Harrison, Idaho, and worked for the state of Idaho as a secretary.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Clara Lundemo of Spokane.

Clara Tomsha Spokane

Service for Clara May Tomsha, 78, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Born in Cottonwood Beach, Wash., Mrs. Tomsha died Tuesday.

She was a 52-year Spokane resident.

She married Vincent Tomsha in 1936 in Valley, Wash. He died in 1950.

Mrs. Tomsha is survived by three sons, Ronald Tomsha of Mead, Raymond Tomsha of Spokane and Jim Tomsha of Colbert; two daughters, Maxine Taylor of Salem, Ore., and Lorraine Hildenbrand of Spokane; a brother, Carl Anderson and a sister, Marie Anderson, both of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
