Man Sentenced In Armed Robbery

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane man who led police on a high-speed chase after an armed robbery, despite having his infant daughter in the car, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Timothy M. Town, 22, earlier pleaded guilty to the July 15 gunpoint robbery of a 16-year-old boy in northeast Spokane. Town kicked the victim in the head, stole stereo equipment from the boy’s car, then drove off, police said.

Police later spotted Town’s 1984 Cadillac in the area. They chased him for more than 20 minutes before he was stopped and arrested.

Officers found Town’s 13-month-old daughter strapped in a child seat. She wasn’t injured.

In addition to armed robbery, Town pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal mistreatment and attempting to elude police.
