State parks officials plan to turn an abandoned railroad bed into a 119-mile-long gravel trail for hikers, bicyclists and equestrians. Its eastern end would be 16 miles southwest of Spokane. Commission members will take comments on the idea Wednesday, and during meetings Tuesday in Pasco and Thursday in Washtucna, Wash.

Spokane Regional Transportation Council

Council hosts a public workshop to discuss possibilities for high-capacity transportation between Liberty Lake and downtown. Possibilities include a commuter train, special bus service and road lanes reserved for carpoolers.
