Four Children Found Murdered
A mother found her four children shot to death in their beds Sunday, and police were searching for the children’s father for questioning.
The victims were a 16-year-old girl and her three brothers, ages 10, 13 and 14, state police spokesman Hugh Munn said Sunday.
Family members found the children about 7 p.m., but they may have been dead several days, Munn said.
Police were looking for the father, Johnny Satterwhite, for questioning, Munn said. No charges were immediately filed.
The names of the children were not immediately released.
The victims’ mother, Bertha Satterwhite, found the children, Munn said.
A 22-caliber handgun was found at the home, WYFF-TV in Greenville reported.
The television station also reported that Mrs. Satterwhite left the home earlier in the week because of marital problems.
