Nic’s Cunningham Ruled Ineligible

North Idaho College sophomore guard David Cunningham has been ruled ineligible by the NJCAA, basketball coach Hugh Watson said.

Cunningham, one of only three returning players from last year’s team, apparently needed 12 credits of summer school. He earned 12 hours, but 11 came from Lewis Clark State College and one from Nevada. Watson said the NJCAA requires that the credits be from the same school, unless previously approved.

NIC plans an appeal to the NJCAA, Watson said. If the appeal is denied, Cunningham will become eligible at the semester break, after Christmas.

Meanwhile, tonight’s NIC men’s basketball road game against Western Montana has been postponed due to hazardous travel conditions, Watson said. No makeup date has been announced.
