State Wants Teen Girl To Pay For False Report

From Staff And Wire Reports

The state will seek more than $7,000 in restitution from a 14-year-old girl charged with making a false bomb report at the Statehouse.

State agencies and other offices had to be evacuated Sept. 18 because of a a bomb threat and an earlier bomb threat call to the Boise Centre on the Grove.

Director of Law Enforcement Robert Sobba said Tuesday the state will ask for restitution due to the loss of time to state employees.

Investigators said the girl asked for the number of the Statehouse, then placed a call at a pay phone. Officers said the girl was taken into custody after she went home and changed her clothes, then returned to watch as the Statehouse was searched for a bomb.
