Murder Tipster Sought By Police
Spokane detectives want to talk to an anonymous caller who recently gave them information about a unsolved North Side murder.
Police issued a plea Tuesday for the man to call them back. He originally called the Secret Witness line and provided some details about the killing of Kenneth Michael Kinney.
Kinney, 43, died of a chest wound on North Nevada in early September.
Detectives have been stumped by the case, said Lt. Jerry Oien, adding that the tipster had “more (information) than what we have.”
The man who called identified himself with a five-digit code that began with the numbers 1-8-1.
That person is asked to call the major crimes unit at 625-4210 and identify himself with the same code number.
He can remain anonymous and is still eligible for the $2,000 reward in the case, police said.
